Presentation of the Bokundoli platform to bring young people closer to the history of their country

In collaboration with the Education and Culture Cooperation (CEC) and APEFE, the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship (MINEDUNC) presented the digital platform “Bokundoli” on October 23, 2025, in Kinshasa, during an interministerial meeting dedicated to the integration of historical and memorial narratives into educational and cultural policies. This digital educational initiative is part of the recommendations of the 61st Council of Ministers. The result of work by Congolese researchers, with the support of international partners, Bokundoli is a digital tool designed to bring the history of the Congo closer to its youth. It provides content tailored to teachers and learners to strengthen civic awareness, collective memory, and a sense of patriotism. The platform’s presentation brought together several key ministries: Higher Education, Universities, Scientific Research, and Technological Innovation; Vocational Training; Youth and Patriotic Awareness; and Culture and the Arts. Together, they initiated a joint discussion on the integration of historical narratives—particularly those related to the Genocost—into educational and cultural programs. As a sub-sector of the Ministry of National Education, MINEDUNC reaffirmed its commitment to equipping students with a solid and coherent understanding of national history. This initiative aims to build a collective identity, foster critical thinking, and pass on the memory from one generation to the next. Bokundoli is fully aligned with this mission: it serves as a strategic lever to strengthen the coherence of educational initiatives centered on history, encourage responsible citizenship, and build a shared national memory.
