On behalf of the Provincial Minister of Education for the capital, Jean-Pierre Yoy Bokete, the Provincial Director (PROVED) of Kinshasa-Lukunga, officially launched the Provincial Annual Performance Review (RAP) on Monday, August 5, 2024, in the conference room of the MAARIF International School in the Gombe district. The theme chosen for this year is: "Improving the quality of education to stimulate socio-economic development."

In his speech, the PROVED of Kinshasa-Lukunga first noted that this meeting is of a technical, results-oriented nature with four objectives to be achieved, namely: evaluating the performance of the sub-sector; updating the school map; monitoring and evaluating the implementation of reforms; and validating the planning for the following school year.

Jean-Pierre Yoy Bokete then highlighted the mission of the members of the provincial technical committee, which consists, among other things, of applying the guidelines and instructions from higher authorities, supporting the organization of the RAP, presenting and analyzing the RAP reports from the educational sub-provinces at the plenary session, and monitoring the implementation of recommendations from previous meetings in order to forward the resolutions to the competent authority.

Continuing his remarks, the PROVED noted that over three days—August 5 through 7—participants will attend 17 presentations, 12 of which will be delivered by directors of central services at the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship, and 5 by provincial service officials, including educational partners.

"The aim is to guide the Provincial Annual Performance Review in order to obtain the necessary information regarding the organization and proper functioning of the Congolese education system," he said.

Finally, Jean-Pierre Yoy Bokete called on all stakeholders to actively participate in these meetings, in accordance with the 2016-2025 Sectoral Strategy for Education and Training, which focuses on three pillars: access, equity, and retention; quality and relevance of learning; and good governance and management of the education system.

"Gathered here today for this common cause, our victory is certain," he concluded.
