Raïssa Malu, Minister of State and Minister of National Education and New Citizenship, launched the national teacher recruitment competition and the promotion of elementary school principals on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Athénée de la Gombe in Kinshasa. This initiative is part of the structural reforms undertaken by the Ministry of Education to improve the quality of the Congolese education system. It also aims to promote excellence, transparency, and competence within the public school system. In her speech, the minister emphasized the importance of this initiative, which, she said, demonstrates the government’s commitment to building an equitable and high-performing education system.
“Quality education begins with qualified and motivated teachers. Merit-based recruitment is a guarantee of equity and efficiency for our schools,” she stated.
This competition will identify the best candidates to teach students in public schools across all provinces of the DRC. The promotion of elementary school principals, meanwhile, aims to foster a spirit of competition within public schools. Through these reforms, the Ministry of Education demonstrates its commitment to making a sustainable investment in human capital and ensuring that every Congolese child has access to a quality education—an essential condition for the development of a nation rich in human resources.
