For informational purposes, a delegation from the Communication Management Directorate (DGC) of the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship, led by Pierre Museghe Gikela, Director of Digital Technology and Continuing Education, presented the Educ - App, an initiative that will enable the sub-sector to comply with digital requirements.
In his remarks, the DGC’s Director of Digital Affairs revealed that Educ - App addresses aspects related to the digitization of educational oversight and the security of certification documents, as well as aspects related to teacher training and distance learning, particularly for students who face physical barriers to accessing school.
Pierre Museghe provided insights into the steps to be taken for the effective implementation of this digital tool within the Ministry of National Education, particularly within the General Inspectorate, an approach that met with the approval of Inspector General Hubert Kimbonza and his staff.
To achieve this objective, the DGC delegation and the inspectors agreed to establish a monitoring committee, which must necessarily coordinate with the work that the PAAF project has already initiated through the digital task force.
Both parties also welcomed the fact that the Educ-App application aligns with the fifth guiding principle of Minister of State Raïssa Malu, which calls for integrating new information and communication technologies into the DRC’s education system.
For the record, this fifth guiding principle emphasizes that in the digital age, it is essential to modernize teaching, improve access to education, and prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century. This is what justifies the Ministry’s commitment to equipping schools with digital tools, training teachers and students in their use, and integrating ICT into the curriculum. This integration will diversify learning methods, enrich educational content, and make education more interactive and accessible, particularly in remote areas. The use of ICT is also a lever for improving the administrative management of schools and fostering educational innovation.
