Théodore Kazadi Muayila officially took office as Deputy Minister of National Education and New Citizenship (EDU-NC) on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. The handover ceremony took place at the ministry’s offices in Kinshasa, in the Gombe district. He replaces Jean-Pierre Kezamudru, who had held the position since April 2024 under the Suminwa 1 government. The new Deputy Minister of National Education and New Citizenship (EDU-NC) expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister for the trust placed in him.
“My first impressions are feelings of satisfaction that the Minister of State, Minister of Education and New Citizenship, had made all the necessary arrangements to ensure that the handover between myself, the incoming official, and my predecessor took place under favorable conditions. So I am very satisfied on that front. But my greatest satisfaction comes from the fact that the Head of State, His Excellency Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, together with the Prime Minister, has placed his trust in me by appointing me as Deputy Minister of National Education, for which I thank them warmly and promise to work hand in hand with my superior to ensure that the objectives assigned to us are achieved,” he said.
Immediately upon taking office, Théodore Kazadi was received by Minister of State Raïssa Malu to learn about the objectives assigned to the ministry in the five-year plan, with the aim of fully engaging in the process of its implementation.
“As you know, I have just met with Her Excellency Raïssa. We discussed the objectives assigned to us at the government level. These objectives are outlined in the Republic’s five-year plan. We must work hand in hand to ensure these objectives are achieved,” he stated.
It should be noted that Théo Kazadi was appointed to the new “Suminwa II” government on August 7, 2025. Prior to this appointment, he served as a national deputy, elected from Tshikapa in the province of Kasaï. As Deputy Minister of National Education and New Citizenship, Théodore Kazadi will be tasked with supporting Minister of State Raïssa Malu in implementing the country’s education and citizenship policies. His parliamentary experience and political commitment are considered assets in addressing the challenges facing the education sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Willy Kambulu
