On Thursday, September 11, 2025, in the city of Tshikapa, the capital of Kasaï Province, the official launch of the teacher training workshop on the Reformed Pedagogical Humanities (HPR) took place. This initiative is part of the comprehensive reform of the Congolese education system, led by the Ministry of National Education and New Citizenship, with technical and financial support from UNESCO. The ceremony was presided over by the Provincial Minister of Education, in the presence of local school authorities, Ministry experts, UNESCO representatives, school principals, and numerous teachers from various schools in Kasaï. In total, more than 140 participants attended this training, which marks an important step in the implementation of the HPR reform, which aims to modernize education, align curriculum content with national sociocultural realities, and enhance the teaching profession. Through this training, the Congolese government reaffirms its commitment to placing teachers at the heart of educational change. In addition to teachers, inspectors and school principals responsible for monitoring the implementation of this reform also actively participated in a warm and friendly atmosphere. According to the head of the government’s delegation of expert trainers, Mr. Flavien MUNZULUBA, “Teachers must take ownership of this reform, which emphasizes practical aspects related to social life.” This pilot phase of the HPR launch involves three educational provinces:  Kasai Province (Tshikapa), Equateur Province (Mbandaka), and Kongo Central (Mbanza-ngungu). These three provinces mark the beginning of a new era for Congolese schools—schools that are more ambitious, more inclusive, and resolutely focused on the nation’s sustainable development.
